Switch from 1Password
Three steps. About a minute.
- 1
Export from 1Password
In 1Password for Mac, choose File › Export and pick the .1pux format.
- 2
Drop it on Brassword
Brassword reads the file on your Mac. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.
- 3
Check the count, then delete the export
You get a summary of what came across and what didn’t. Then bin the .1pux: it isn’t encrypted.

What staying costs.

Honest answers
Do my attachments come across?
Yes. Files attached to items, and Document items, import as encrypted attachments. A file too large for the vault’s limit is skipped and counted, and its item still imports.
Do passkeys come across?
No. Brassword doesn’t support passkeys. A login that only had a passkey imports as a login without one, so you’ll need another way to sign in to that site.
Can I keep 1Password running while I try it?
Yes. Import doesn’t touch 1Password, and importing again later doesn’t make duplicates.
Is there a browser extension?
No. Brassword is a Mac app with an iPhone companion. If you rely on a browser extension every day, wait for it.
